video: 25 tips and tricks for your motorola droid
Thursday, February 25, 2010we've had a ton of requests to do a simple motorola droid "tips and tricks" styled video and we finally found a few minutes to step aside and whip one out. the challenge with this was to put 25 of them into one video under 10 minutes which somehow, we managed to do. overall, this video is for the newbies, but many of you droid masters could probably learn a couple of things too.
i'm not sure i'll ever be able to talk this fast again...
and feel free to leave your own tips and tricks in the comments!

Love it! thank you
ReplyDeleteBecause of the phone doesn't come with an user manual you have to play with and figure out what this beauty can do, I knew couples of tips/tricks already.... B U T.. there were some very interesting. It might sound gay, I don't care, what I really like was the instructions, they were to the point, sharp, no dancing around and fast.... what I want to know is if the phone the guy is using is rooted and what version is the phone running.... thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, well it's my phone and it is not rooted and running stock 2.0.1.
ReplyDeleteKellex, your phone responds really well, is it over clocked?
ReplyDeletealso like the long press on the home key to get the recently used apps. Similar to alt-tab (apple-tab), it makes moving between apps a little quicker. Thanks for the vid, nice job.
ReplyDeleteNope, it's "unrooted" and running your basic 2.0.1. I do keep my installed apps to a minimum, but thats pretty much it.
ReplyDeletei dont like myself anymore so im gonna unfavorite myself
ReplyDeleteI asked because yours runs very smooth and I thought you got the +mhz processor going on and some more. I rooted mine but I have been thinking to get it back to 2.0.1, so I want to know if you installed an app besides task manager to make it flight like that... thanx!
ReplyDeleteMr. Tehcko: I really havent done anything crazy to it. Wish I had a magic trick for everyone. :)
ReplyDeleteI would say limiting the number of apps I have installed might make a difference, but my phone has almost always run like this.
lol... ok, thanx
ReplyDeleteWhat weather widget is that? I have been looking for a similar and cannot find it.
ReplyDeleteBrandon: Beautiful Widgets
ReplyDeleteI don't understand the manual sync of facebook and contacts. When I go into Facebook, then friends and try to click the picture it just goes to that friends page and I don't get the options that the video shows. What am I missing?
ReplyDeleteI can't get the video to load on my Droid any suggestion
ReplyDeleteAlphonso: Give it a little bit. My guess is that he has to do with it being HD and YouTube processing it. Sorry for the delay :(
ReplyDeleteExcellent work (as always), Kellex.
ReplyDeleteIt says. " sorry this video not available "
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I knew many of the tips, but well done and a few interesting things I was able to pick up. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! I learned a lot from this video!
ReplyDeleteI'm with the other anonymous fellow. I followed the directions on the facebook pictures to contacts, but when I go to "friends" and then click on a contact, it goes to that friend's page on my droid as well. Any idea about why it responds differently? Thanks for the vid... very cool.
ReplyDeletegreat job fitting all that in to the time limit. Thanks for showing it all.
ReplyDeleteFor the Facebook contact sync you have to click on their Facebook picture not their actual name.
ReplyDeleteIt does not matter whether I click on the Facebook picture or the name, short or long press, it always goes in to their profile....
ReplyDeleteMaybe there are different versions of Facebook out there?
ReplyDeleteMine is 112 and does not appear to have the options.
I have the same issue with my Facebook on the Droid. In the video, kellex's Facebook pictures are like buttons, but on mine it's all one selection. I have to believe this is because we have old versions of Facebook.
