all nexus one 2.1 apps ported to droid in action
Friday, January 29, 2010on a slow friday in the motorola droid world we were handed this awesome video. it comes from reader @johnpariah who took the time to install all of the android 2.1 apps we've been raving about and then provided evidence of their awesomeness. he also took a look at beautiful widgets which is a paid app worth your $2...
on a side note, during the video he comments on us porting all of these apps over ourselves which i need to correct him on. while i'd love to take all the credit in the world, my conscience can't allow that.
just look at this blog as an outlet for all things motorola droid so that you don't need to spend countless hours sifting through the trenches trying to find the latest and greatest updates. we're essentially your average user, but one that loves us some droid hacks and news!
for you new visitors, here is the current list to make life really easy...
1. flan gallery 2.1
2. genie news and weather 2.1
3. launcher 2.1
4. music app 2.1
5. clock app 2.1

Just an FYI, I installed the news and weather app (after uninstalling my current weather channel app) and it worked pretty well. I placed a widget one of my desktops, it worked fine.
ReplyDeleteThen that same morning I went to work which is in a different city and when I unlocked my phone, the widget had correctly changed the city name, but the temp display looked like it was offset. I could only see the bottom half of the temperature. Really strange.
Anyway, I uninstalled for now.
Right on, thanks for the input.
ReplyDeleteI get an over bandwidth message when trying to access these links. Any idea when that might go away or do you have additional links? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteNew links have been posted. They should work now.
ReplyDeletehi, im new to this, i have downloaded the file and placed it in my sd card of the droid, where do i have to go to install it? from the settings?
ReplyDeleteWell if you have the Astro File Manager you should find the downloaded file in a folder called "downloads".
ReplyDeleteBut if you downloaded it, you should have just clicked on it once it was finished downloading and it would have loaded right there.
To get back to your downloads, open up the browser, hit your options button, then "more" and then "downloads".
LOL @ "Screw the nexus one"
ReplyDeleteSomeone's insecure. Both phones are great, and they run the same OS, what's the point on hating on a phone that's not even on the same network (yet)?
Hilarious. Reminds me of the old N64/PS, PS2/Xbox, PS3/360 childish arguments.
Good to see the Droid getting to see some features I've been playing around with for a month now, hopefully the full 2.1 update is coming for you guys soon.
We gotta hate one what we don't have a little bit you know? :)
ReplyDeleteHopefully they catch us up soon though!
