  1. Kellex, whats up i got a question is google earth supposed to be like a replacement for google maps i really dont see the point of it and also i rooted my Droid and installed the DroidMod i love it the only thing is my phone freezes a lil bit too much and resets itself i bought the setcpu thing but i dont know how to work it to prevent the phone from resetting my settings are 1200max and 250min is that right?

  2. Hey Anonymous...
I had mine set to 1200mhz as well and was getting restarts too. Then I switched it to 800 or 900 (can't remember) and it worked perfect.

  3. I would not advise you run it at 1200mhz. It was probably overheating and turning itself off. Also, when you set up SetCPU, did you choose "auto-detect" your device? You should have. You can change it by going into options in SetCPU.

And to your Google Earth question: It's not a replacement, it's just another toy to have on your phone. :)

  4. Its running great till after 5 mins became a lil laggy. Also this file was around 5mb. And other people were saying it was around 23mb, any reason for that

  5. Google Earth runs really well on my non-rooted droid. I haven't noticed a lag yet. I'm surprised at how well it runs without needing to root or overclock it or anything. Thanks for the instructions Kellex.

  7. For some reason it's not working for me. It will install and launch, but after about 5 seconds of the loading screen it quits out. Doesn't force close or show a message, just stops and sends me back to the last thing I was on. Anybody else having this problem?

  8. for the 5mb vs. 23mb Q, after install it says 22.42MB on my Droid so it must be downloading compressed data.

  9. I got an error saying that it couldn't install. But then it was listed in my programs anyway. Still pretty laggy though. Tends to just freeze from time to time, will come back to life after a few minutes without force closing. Still a really cool app, I'll keep playing with it.

  10. Cool, one more toy to add to my phone!

Also, I already unrooted my phone. When I had it rooted some of my widgets wouldn't work correctly (like weatherbug and news & weather widget), and the browser would distort the text while scrolling (my biggest annoyance.) The ability to overclock was nice though.

  14. yeah, i noticed the same thing as andrew. its about 23.. wow that's big. very cool app, but i have to delete a few things because i'm running out of space! (i REALLY wish we could save to the sd card... i have 97% free on it it!!!)

  15. Saving to the SDcard would definitely be nice. This may just be one of those apps you show off to friends for a while and then uninstall heh.

  16. Runs on my unrooted droid, but has no content. I see the globe but zooming in just makes the globe pixels bigger. If I search for Hawaii and zoom in, there's no islands, just blue all the way to max zoom. Same for the whole planet, can only zoom around the low-rez globe.

  17. Hmm...are you on wi-fi? I'm guessing it might need wi-fi to really get good results. It's got at on of data to load so maybe it's struggling on 3G.

  18. i used it on 3G and was just fine, no wifi.

  19. Hey Kellex....I am unable to open it...it shows the following ...(Alert!.....Can't write to data directory, maybe run out of disk space)

  20. I don't know if anyone has tried, but I can confirm that it does not work on android 1.5 on droid eris.

Just thought I'd throw that out there in case someone was wondering. Getting 2.1 any week now so it's just a waiting game. :P

  30. Why do you need to use the Astro File Manager? It installed fine on my unrooted Droid without it.. :/

  31. If bandwidth has been reached, use one of the "alt links" next to the main one.
