motorola droid beats iphone and nexus one in screen test?

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

an interesting article popped up on apple insider yesterday which had the iphone's lcd screen trumping the oled of the nexus one.  the article went into a ton of detail and even included some neat little pictures of the results which sound fairly legit.  while the test was put together by the president of a company called DisplayMate who tossed out a nice little note on the droid, the article publishers it seems, tried to sweep it under the rug...

As for the current standard-bearer in mobile phone displays, Soneira said he would guess that title goes to the Motorola Droid. While he hasn't done any thorough tests, he said in his educated opinion Motorola's Android-powered handset, which has a 3.7-inch screen, is the leader.
yay again for the motorola droid!  will this phone ever stop receiving high praise?

  1. I think we all know which phone is the top dog. Maybe that's why they maybe holding up our update. The Droid is winning all this awards without running the latest OS. When we do receive 2.1 they can hang it up. Droid will be the rightful leader.

  2. We definitely know that we have the top dog even without 2.1. Getting 2.1 will be like if you had won the lottery 6 months ago, bought a scratch it ticket today and won another $10k. Or something like that :)

  4. @kellex. That's got to be the quote of the month!

You've summed up my feelings about Droid well. I'm looking forward to 2.1, but I absolutely love my unrooted Droid now.

  5. Yea and a rooted Droid put it in a league of it own. Like the different b/w a All * Star and a Rookie

  6. Yet another reason to love my (un-rooted)droid, however, if by any chance they had done the tests with the droid and they found some tiny flaw in it I would not change my opinion of my droid. It works perfect it for my everyday uses. I don't need it to replace NORAD and nuke Russia nor do I need to make ILM's special effects on it. The grass isn't always greener on the other side. (Still, it could kick even more @$$ with 2.1 update running on it).
