I just can't understand why everyone is so impatient for the 2.1 release for the Droid. Don't get me wrong I'm looking forward to it but I don't want anything that will be rushed and full of bugs either.

i'm pretty sure this is what we were supposed to get. i'd rather wait and have them put on what they took out and what we deserve. boo to them for removing it in the first place though.

I'm guessing this was possibly the update we were supposed to get and they decided they needed some last minute updates.

Let's just hope those updates are worth it...

yeah i really hope the updates are worth it and as far as the eagerness we all know the Motorola Droid is the sh*t and with the apps kellex has posted on his site to make the Droid better or more appealing we got greedy and want more hence "Give me my damn 2.1" - its all more fuel to my phone is better than your phone fire- (or should i say ammo to the fight cause most burns arent good burns lol)

this is just like the update you "reported" on for the Eris. I think you leave tons to be desired when it comes to journalism.

Hope the delay is worth the wait! And add the swype keyboard as the default on DROID! I don't care for 3d animation.

lol, I love a good fight. Well, it has been fun watching all of this. I do check here for the latest news. My wife says I spend too much time on this, ha. She just doesn't get it. Me, I just want whats coming out to be right. What a drama, lol. Almost like my 1st wife!

Good to hear. I'd rather have a full-featured update that actually works, even if that means waiting a bit longer.

Don't update my Droid unless it includes Motoblur!

Not sure about Motorola, but Verizon could care less if everyone wants the 3d launcher and 5 screens....they're going to make sure the OS runs correctly on their network and that's it. I'm convinced VZW is to blame for the delay......seen it before with the BB Storm...

Historically VZW has definitely taken their time wih releasing updates, but that is usually due to the proprietary interface and software that they usually use. The Droid uses the stock android OS with nothing added by VZW, so I'm not sure why it would take them so long with this. The first update was pushed out very quickly. Still, if they are just taking their time to make sure it's not super buggy, then that's fine with me. But I'm sure others may disagree ;)

Give us a fully functioning 2.1 w/o bugs and Flash.

Vzw sells phones and contracts so it was wrong for google to release n -1 just after the hipe of moto droid so we be very lucky to recieve ota 2.1. For another matter vzw is not used to updates so it should come from manufacture or revamp so updates happen all the time so smartphones are changing all the time

I haven't heard anything regarding TV Out from the Droid for a couple months. Has anyone broken the barrier and found a solution?

I think verizon is trying to milk google with nexus one envy.

For everyone worried about 2.1 don't if you want 2.1 then head over to www.alldroid.org koush has a working 2.1 rom that is cyanogen/sholes that's right for all you root users a cyanogen rom on droid its stable and has working live wallpapers along with multitouch. If you don't want 2.1 root your phone pick a 2.0.1 rom and go to alldroid.org cause xeudoxus has got live wallpapers working on 2.0.1 all of them so enjoy and don't worry all of this works smoothly i am using shole 2.0.5 themed with droidinator theme and using live wallpapers on 2.0.1 and i am overclocked at 800max, and 500min and running smooth so if you don't want to wait try these out you won't regret it. Oh for the droidinator theme you will need metamorph from the market as for where it is just google it.

Wow that would have been (or is going to be) one lame arse update. =/ I'll probably root and overclock if its just that. Gotta be patient though. lol

I understand and appreciate that some of the rumors that are going around are just that... rumors. Sometimes you have to post those rumors because once and awhile they turn out to be true. When the don't, it is discovered also. However it is fun to read them, and easier than reading all the other forums.

I come here to get the good stuff, and the good rumors...

Any new news on when 2.1 update will be released yet??

Just want to say thanks to everyone for all the support and kind words. I'll hopefully be able to keep this up for the foreseeable future!

And no word yet on 2.1 update Tyler. Rumors of "end of the month" have been flying around but we really have no idea.

I have a feeling were all going to be so happy when we get our updates "soon"

I bet it's going to include everything!! 3D wallpapers! Flash! 3D app drawer! Multi-touch! All of it will be ours!
