Not sure why you are telling people to install Andro. I haven't tried it on a vanilla DROID. Are you saying that if you don't download Andro, the browser isn't going to download the file? (hence needing an app like "Download crutch" or one of many file managers) Have you tried it on a vanilla DROID? (caveat: a file manager will make deleting the file out of your download directory easier; you can delete it right after installing it)
ReplyDeleteI said this in another comment, but your droidog.com video misses a huge feature of the app -- its integration of picasa albums. After installing the app, go into your phone's "Accounts and sync" settings. Click on your Google account. You'll now see a new row -- "Sync Picasa Web Albums". If you already have auto-sync turned on, then check the picasa checkbox there to enable sync'ing. If you don't keep your auto-sync on, then TEMPORARILY turn it on long enough to check the box and then turn it off after. Then the next time you go into the Gallery, you'll see your Picasa albums.
ReplyDeleteJust making sure people have a file manager which in the case of this video you don't necessarily need. That probbaly could have been omitted. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah I saw the comment on the Picasa feature. Definitely cool. Would be nice if there was a way to select or limit the galleries that show up though. I have all my blog accounts feeding images to my picasa which generates like 50 galleries of stuff I dont want on my phone.
Thanks for all the comments by the way. Keep 'em coming!
I love the program but it didn't generate a "videos" folder...my videos got mixed in with my "all photos" folder. How can I get this to put my vids in a seperate folder?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
If you go into the DCIM folder on your phone in either Astro File Manager or by mounting your phone, you will find your "Camera" folder. It contains all of your videos and pics taken.
ReplyDeleteI just created a new folder called "Videos" in my DCIM folder and then moved all my videos into that. You will then have a new folder in Flan with all your videos.
The only problem is, once you take new videos, you'll have to move them to this new folder. Not sure there is a way to automatically move them there. I'll dig around and see if I can find a way.
Thanks yo! I appreciate it!!
ReplyDeleteI can't get picasa on my sync screen. I have 2.01on Droid and I've installed it 3 times but no luck any suggestions would be great.
ReplyDeleteGo into settings > accounts & sync and then select the account on your phone which connects to your picasa account.
ReplyDeleteFrom there you should be able to check the box for "Sync Picasa Web Albums".
Here is the video of it: http://www.droid-life.com/2010/01/sync-flan-gallery-with-picasa-web.html
